Fish Competition

Become a published illustrator!

Cosmos the baby humpback whale wants to know all about the world and the creatures in it. He sets off to find polar bears and penguins and has many exciting adventures along the way! To illustrate my 3rd book, Cosmos the Curious Whale, I am inviting all primary school students to draw and colour a tropical fish. More than 300 of the most original and colourful entries will be included in the book! The young artists whose pictures are chosen will receive a printed certificate and will be acknowledged on the inside book cover and on this website.

Three fishHere are three fabulous fish sent to me by students at Head Start primary school in Phuket. Well done John, Vasco and Win. Remember, there are hundreds of different types of tropical fish you can choose from, or you could just make one up using your imagination!

The Competition

The Illustration Competition is open to all primary school students (Y1 to Y6). Participants are invited to draw ONE colourful tropical fish on an A4 sheet using any medium they like: colour pencil, water colour, pastels etc

How to enter

If you’d like to join the competition, ask a parent or teacher to help you email your artwork in a jpeg format to gail@gailclarkeauthor.com (maximum size 1MB, A4 size) and please make sure to mention your name, your primary school class, the name of your school and the country you live in.

Good Luck!!

By the way: As well as choosing fish pictures for Cosmos the Curious Whale, I am also posting all the entries on this website – the ones I’ve received so far are fantastic!

If you have sent me a picture it may be up already. Click on ‘Fish Competition – Your Entries’ in the menu bar above and see if you can find it!
