On a trip to Kenya in March 2012 to see my son, Ben, who flies helicopters (Patrick’s not the only person in the family who can fly!), his partner, Karina, who’s a top class chef, and grandsons Frank and Digby, I took the opportunity to visit two schools. The first was Pembroke House in Gilgil in the Rift Valley, where Frank is a student, and Braeburn School, Nanyuki, near Mount Kenya, where Digby goes. Both are delightful schools, full of energetic, fun-loving children. Patrick loved meeting them – there were about one hundred and twenty in all.
Here’s a picture of Patrick entertaining a group at Pembroke House.
