Twelve Titles, Eight Languages!

Is it really two years since I posted about all my books and their translations into other languages? Gosh! How time flies!

Well, it’s now November 2022 and things have moved on.

Including Livi and the Loo! I now have twelve books available, all of them on Amazon. And there are now French and Spanish versions of the two shark books written for the Shark Guardian Charity.

So, in total, there are six titles in Dutch, five in Italian, four in German, two in French, two in Spanish and one each in Thai and Mongolian. When the twelve English version are included, that’s thirty-three titles!

A big ‘Thank you’ to Pim Hoogeveen, Irene Bernacchi, Nadja Shäfers, Delphine Panizzuti and Alejandra Diaz.

Will there be more on the way?

Ten titles; six languages!

Over the last ten years, I have written and illustrated ten children’s book (number eleven is on the way!) and thanks to the help and enthusiasm of several friends, a number of the titles have now been translated into languages other than English. A big ‘Thank you’ to Pim Hoogeveen, Nadja Shäfers and Irene Bernacchi.

As of this month, there are six titles in Dutch; four in German, three in Italian and one each in Thai and Mongolian. When the ten English versions are included, that’s twenty-five titles!

And there are more on the way in Dutch, German and Italian, while the Shark Guardian charity, for whom the two titles Shark Our Ocean Guardians and Jed’s Big Adventure were written, are keen to have their books in other languages, amongst which could be Arabic!

Meerkat’s Exciting Adventure

Book number ten!!

I’m thrilled to announce that my tenth book was published on Amazon today.

Meerkat’s Exciting Adventure is a fun-filled story all about an adventurous meerkat who loves playing ‘Hide and Seek’ with her friends.

One day she hides in a safari jeep and finds a picnic basket full of delicious treats. She is enjoying a wonderful feast when suddenly the jeep starts to move. It speeds along carrying a terrified Meerkat far away from home.

How will she ever find her way back?

Like all my books, Meerkat’s Exciting Adventure is told in rhyme and is an action-packed tale written for 4-9 year-olds. During her exciting day, Meerkat meets a friendly ostrich, a leopard, a not-so-friendly hyena, a rhinoceros, a hippopotamus and a very helpful giraffe. Once the story is over, readers can learn many fascinating facts about meerkats.

You can buy Meerkat’s Exciting Adventure directly from Amazon or you can order it through your local bookshop. It’s available in paperback and hardback versions.

Never Too Young For Cosmos!

Thank you Nana Susanna and Mama Ruth for this delightful photo.

It just shows: you are never too young or too old to share a picture book! Florence Elizabeth just couldn’t wait to get her hands on Cosmos!

Happy listening Flo xx

Jack the Hammerhead!

This brought a HUGE smile at a time when HUGE smiles are so welcome!

Meet 5 year old Jack Childers who LOVES hammerhead sharks! He was planning to be Jed the Hammerhead for book character day at his school. Even though schools were suspended, Jack’s school went ahead with a virtual character day. Such a great idea! Here’s Jack looking TERRIFIC (and not at all scary!) in his fabulous shark costume. Thank you Jack and Sarah for this lovely picture.

My YouTube Channel

Wow! It’s just two weeks since the launch of my YouTube channel Gail Clarke Author and I already have over one hundred subscribers. Not only that, but there have also been more than fifteen hundred views of my videos as well.

A big Thank You! to everyone who has subscribed so far. Patrick the African Grey Parrot sends you all a big virtual hug.

Very soon I’ll have a personalised URL for the channel, rather than a load of numbers and letters, which will be much easier to remember.

I have had some great feedback from parents whose children have loved watching the videos, which is wonderful, thank you.

Patrick is delighted too, especially now that his own story, Patrick’s Birthday Message, is on the channel. However, as usual, Patrick wants more. He has insisted that I make a special reading of his story for pre-schoolers. I’m on it right now and it will be up very soon.

There will also be videos of my other stories appearing soon, including the two stories I wrote for the Shark Guardian charity. So keep tuning in to see what’s new.

Free EBook Downloads!

Following on from yesterday’s post, this is just to remind you that the ebook versions of seven of my books are currently free to download from Amazon. The time frame is limited — the offer ends at midnight tomorrow, Sunday April 26 (that’s US west-coast time so for some of you the offer goes on into Monday)

So don’t delay, head over to your Amazon account right now and start downloading.

The books look best in colour on a screen — tablet, phone or computer with the free Kindle Reader App.

Enjoy!

Announcing My YouTube Channel

Great news! I now have my own YouTube channel featuring presentations of four of my books, with three more coming very soon.

It’s called Gail Clarke Author and you can access it directly by clicking here.

And this is what it looks like:

As you can see, there’s an introduction from me and videos of presentations of my books, similar to the ones you might have seen on one of my school visits.

One reason I wanted to make my presentations available to as many children as possible is that so many children around the world, as well as adults, are having to spend most of their time at home. Which means they are looking for things to do.

So Patrick and I got together with Chameleon, Cosmos and all the other animals and we decided that YouTube was the way we could help.

The great thing about YouTube is that you can watch it on a phone, a tablet, a computer and even on a television. And you can watch the videos as many times as you like.

I really hope you enjoy the videos and that you will join me on my channel. Once I have made videos of all my own stories, maybe I’ll read some other stories too. So keep checking on the channel to see what’s new.

Bye for now and

Another Visit to Singapore

I’m very excited to be heading back to Singapore tomorrow to spend five days at the Tanglin Trust School where I’ll be seeing over seven hundred children in Nursery, Reception and Years 1 and 2.

TTS is huge school with a reputation to match, so it is going to be a fun-filled week. Patrick and the others are beside themselves with excitement and can’t wait to meet all the children.

I’ll be posting more on the trip later in the week.
