My Books

I have now written and published twelve books that I love presenting to children all over the world on my school visits. All my books are written in English but many of them have been translated into other languages: Dutch, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Thai and even Mongolian! Click on Posts in the menu bar for details.

Some of the schools I visit let me sell copies of my books to parents during my visit. In addition, paperback and hardback versions are available at very competitive prices through online book retailers such as the excellent The Great British Book Shop (which despite its name, ships worldwide), on order through your local bookshop, and, of course, from Amazon.  You can click on the book covers below to go directly to Amazon page for buying each book.

I love the hardback versions. They are durable, strong, very well made and look great on your bookshelves.

I am so excited about my books being available through bookshops. Why? Well, buying your copies through a bookshop supports that shop, and every time you support your local bookshop, you help it stay in business. After all, bookshops are wonderful places full of so many ways of firing your imagination. But like many animals, they are an endangered species and none of us wants to see them disappear! Hive.co.uk also helps support bookshops in the UK by delivering your order to the bookshop of your choice.

Sharks Our Ocean Guardians

The Shark Guardian Series Book One

Sharks Our Ocean Guardians and Jed’s Big Adventure are two very special books that I wrote at the request of the amazing Shark Guardian charity (sharkguardian.org) run by Liz Ward-Sing and Brendon Sing. Shark Guardian is a UK charity which aims to advance the conservation of sharks and many other marine species for their sustainable management while protecting their natural environment. This is achieved through education, skill development, conservation activities and promoting research projects.

Here’s what Sharks Our Ocean Guardians is about:

Two hundred million years before the birth of the first dinosaur, prehistoric sharks like these lived in rivers, lakes and seas. In these pages you will find a story of a special kind: How the sharks of long ago became the ones that we now know, and the important part they play in keeping our oceans healthy today.

Fifty percent of the profit from sales of this print-on-demand version of ‘Sharks Our Ocean Guardians; The Shark Guardian Series Book One’ will be donated to the Shark Guardian Charity. By purchasing this book, and others in the series, you will be helping in the conservation of sharks and other marine species.

Jed’s Big Adventure

The Shark Guardian Series Book Two

Jed is now a juvenile shark who is growing fast. He is ready for adventure. He wants to see the world. Leaving his mangrove nursery to head for the reef, he meets other sharks including a black tip reef shark and a leopard shark. Together with the black tip reef shark, Jed rescues a turtle trapped in a net and the pair are shocked by all the plastic polluting the sea and the development along the shores of the mangroves.

Closer to the reef, Jed meets other hammerhead sharks who coach him the skills of catching prey. Also near the reef, Jed almost swims into the jaws of Scarface, a terrifying moray eel.

Since the publication in 2014 of Sharks Our Ocean Guardians, the book has been enjoyed by large numbers of children in presentations by Shark Guardian directors Brendon Sing and Liz Ward-sing, and by the author and illustrator Gail Clarke. This new book of Jed’s adventures will be added to future presentations.

Fifty percent of the profit from sales of this print-on-demand version of ‘Jed’s big Adventure; The Shark Guardian Series Book Two’ will be donated to the Shark Guardian Charity. By purchasing this book, and others in the series, you will be helping in the conservation of sharks and other marine species.
